Bits of fluff and important truths

- I received an eye-catching piece of correspondence from paper artist Dave Dube’. Also, Dave’s brother-in-law is a photographer in Seattle, who happened to catch a giant, larger-than-life cover of Hotel on Vashon Island. Part of the King County’s book cover walking tour.
- Evidently there’s a review of Hotel appearing soon in Ouest, the largest daily newspaper in France. If it read, "The greatest artist since Jerry Lewis,” would that be a compliment?
- Plans for the SILK Festival in Norway and the Frankfurt Book Fair are shaping up. Not 100% certain on Norway, but we’re close. I think. No, really.
- Hotel was nominated for an award at the Mixed Roots Film & Literary Fest in LA.
- I’ll be in Findlay, Ohio tomorrow for their community read, with stops at two schools, en route to Friday’s big event.
- Hotel had a nano-second cameo in the latest iPhone commercial, right at the 14-second mark. Don't blink.
- Am still in awe of Alma Katsu’s, The Taker. A genre-bending debut, and the first in a trilogy of lush, historical, paranormal tales. (The story would make for a deliciously dark graphic novel).
- And before I forget, it was a pleasure to meet Mark Pettus in person while in Florida. Mark was the editor of the fledgling Picolata Review, the literary journal mentioned at the end of this article.

Coming to Boston any time soon?
Let me know. I would organize some sort of welcome party.
No Boston trips planned, but maybe for the new book. Hopefully.
