And the new title is...

The book previously know as WHISPERS OF A THUNDER GOD has undergone a name transplant. I really liked WHISPERS, but it did conjure images of Norse gods or Native American deities—none of which appear in the book, which is set primarily in Japan and Seattle. And the new Thor movie wasn't exactly helping either.

So SONGS it is.

No cover design yet, but soon...(rubbing hands together gleefully).

I actually prefer the new title. It would certainly get my attention in a bookstore.

Hmmm. I'm still holding out on this one. Your last title (on Bitter and Sweet) was perfectly chosen, but it only really became clear after reading the book. I actually liked the old title too, but a change isn't necessarily bad.

It's tough to judge a title out of context (without a cover). We'll see...

I still say "Vampire Hussies from Mars" was the one to go with, but I guess your people know what they're doing.

It was taken. HUSSIES was my first choice.

*grumble grumble crotchety old-man routine* I liked "I Am Chinese" and I like "Whispers of a Thunder God"... but it is a well documented fact that my taste sucks (don't tell my wife that... it doesn't apply to HER) so I GUESS I'll put aside my opinion in deference to the people who know the business. *grumble*

I like both titles. Is there a pub date yet? My BN store is still selling the daylights out of Hotel... I'll be happy to see a new Ford on the tables since I know they won't stay long. Can't wait for the news and the book jacket.
