Where are thou, Juliet?

In the wake of today's blockbuster release of Mockingjay, which immediately soared to #1 on Amazon, you might have missed the release of another blockbuster in the making––Juliet, by Anne Fortier.

Juliet is the type of debut novel that publishing houses fight over, for good reason. It instantly sold translation rights in 25 territories and film rights were snapped up months ago. It has all the hallmarks of a “big” book.

Publishers Weekly gave it a starred review, describing it as, “The DaVinci Code for smart women.” I’m not sure if I need to turn in my man-card now, but I absolutely loved it.

I don't suppose we'll require your man card be turned in just yet. Now if you start watching Lifetime and morning soap operas, then yeah. I hadn't heard of this book. Is this a retelling of Romeo and Juliet or just coincidental that the name is similar? Anyway, if you advise reading it, I'll probably pick it up.

It's about woman that is a descendant of Giulietta Tolomei, and the lore that inspired Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Very fast-paced, great read.

That's a nice endorsement. I guess it's time to move that ARC to the top of my "read" pile. But first I have to re-read your book Jamie because it is my pick for book club this month. I can't wait to discuss Hotel with the other members.

So, after I finish Pilars of the Earth and Hotel the second, Juliet's the one!
