That is awesome. Congrats, Jamie.

Do they send you out a golden trophy for each of these things? That would be really cool. Then you could take a picture dressed up in a tux and dark sunglasses, like any other celebrity.

Well done, Jamie, truly well-deserved. Hotel was definitely an interesting and satisfying reads--I'm not giving my copy away. Selfish, I know . . . I may loan it! I will, however , continue to pass the good word about this fabulous book and your recent awards. Kudos to you!!!!

As someone who grew up post WW2 in Seattle (DOB 1947, '65 graduate of Franklin) you have captured a time and place wrapped around a tender love story so beautifully. I learned a lot about my home town and about what I thought of as the exotic International District. I used to ride the #10 bus line that went from Mt. Baker to Capitol Hill on trolley wires on Jackson Street and up 3rd Ave. through downtown (we used to splurge for lunch at Rhodes - F&N was too uptown for us) and I remember staring into the windows of the Black & Tan club from the bus and wondering what went on there. Thank you for getting me inside with Henry & Keiko through your book. I am very happy for you and all the awards it has won, most lately this one! Hooray for "Corner..." and Jamie Ford! I love your book and it deserves awards and most especially, to be read. May it be added to reading lists for high schools soon.

Thanks Kathy! Glad that you remember Rhodes--and F&N. Now all that's left of F&N are Frangos...
