Neuromancing the stone

When it comes to all things online, I guess you could say I was an early adopter (read: geek), going all the way back to the early 80s when BBSs ruled and this odd little company named Compuserve began offering managed content to subscribers who were blessed with a coupler modem. (Think War Games, if you haven’t seen it, why are you reading this? Go rent it, now!)

So the whole blog thing just made sense––still does, which is why I’m always happy to do online interviews. Here are a few stops on my recent virtual book tour:

Needmorebookshelves––Where I dis on the Hardy Boys and coloring books.

Girlsjustreading––Where I answer that sequel question, among other things.

I read the original Hardy Boys (my dad brought home boxes of them from dusty old stores). The things that stick in my mind are "Dollars to doughnuts" that one of them kept saying, their chubby friend Chet, and the "roadster" they drove. Not much else.

Amen to your comment on the AP stylebook...omitting punctuation and articles to reduce your character count is no way to go through life, son. Even people in the ad trade think they're journalists, and for no good reason. Long live the Chicago Manual of Style!
