Harry W. Schwartz: Milwaukee, WI

I love Milwaukee. Maybe it's because I watched too many Laverne & Shirley reruns as a kid. It's just a great city. And Harry W. Schwartz is a great, iconic bookstore--it was a real honor to speak there before the local chain sails off into the sunset. (Don't worry, a few are reopening. Look for Next Chapter Books, next time you're in town).

We had a nice turnout and a lively crowd. A hearty thanks to Chris and her crew for making us feel so welcome.

Jamie congrats again!! I love the positive momentum.

Have you sold movie rights, and if so, have you considered who might be cast?
I really hope you consider casting John Cho. I know he is Korean -- neither Chinese nor Japanese American -- but he is HOT. Also -- can act, can convey bittersweetness.

I just started reading Hotel (on page 61) and can't stop! It's amazing that this is your debut; I'm really looking forward to what else you have in store for the future.

I'm about to start reading, since I'm beginning a two-week vacation. I was wondering -- how do you decide what part of your book to read during signings?

No movie rights yet. But I have a few meetings in LA next week... ;)

Sandra--I usually read a part that's about 70 pages in. It's short, and somewhat self-contained--I can read it with just a little lead in and it packs in a lot of emotion.

Was in the Schwartz audience. Loved having you. Already recommended the book to my friends and family. Thanks for coming out on such a frigid night. And nice panoramic pic with that newfangled phone of yours (Your wife was right...). All the best to you on this new adventure.
