Do not try this at home–I am a semi-trained, fearless script-kiddie

Ever notice that when most websites are down for maintenance it’s between the vampiric hours of midnight and 3:00 am? Is this because most web designers wake up at the crack of noon, play Halo all day, and then head to work––or is it simply because that’s when the bars stop serving alcohol?

I’ll let you ponder that, while I reboot my server for the bazillionth time.

I guess I’m no different since I’ve been working on a massive site overhaul into the wee hours. I’m almost there. Hopefully you’ll have something cool to look at by the weekend.

When it comes to web stuff, I know just enough to be a danger to myself, and others. Though I did attend a web conference in Vegas one time. It was at Caesar’s Palace, in a set of ballrooms overlooking the Venus Pool—Caesar’s “European Style” bathing area—which is the less gawkerish way of saying “Topless.” For some reason people hung out near those windows, “checking their email” during breaks. And during breakfast. And during lectures. And during fire-drills. Ah, but I digress...

In the meantime, if you notice some buggy behavior, that’s just me working behind the scenes, trying not to delete anything as I upgrade the site. (I’ve already lost my blogroll, hang in there, I think I’ve recovered it).

So sorry for the loss of your blogroll. Here's hoping your quest to regain it is succesful.

And aren't all writers up andn writing between the hours of 12-3 a.m.? Never considered myself a vamp before, nor do I play Halo, but perhaps both could serve as creative inspiration...

I still think you should have bought that mesh leather jacket-shirt in Vegas. Would've been perfect for your book tour.

Jamie... absolutely fantastic makeover! It was good-looking site before, and it's a spectacular-looking site after. Very nicely done.

Your previous layout and presentation was largely the inspiration for my current blog site design. I'm not going to try to catch up with you again, but this just looks fantastic.

Jamie - your website's new make-up is great. More options - especially the family tree info.

Thanks Kennedy. The new version of Squrespace is pretty slick. I was hesitant to dive right in, but once I did, it was fairly easy to use. Their tech support is pretty responsive as well.

Hi Richard, I'll be posting more family photos soon!
